Zoe Curtis studied English Literature at Durham University in the late 1980s and started work as an accountant in London. After an abortive first year in this career, she quickly changed track and moved to teaching. She cut her teeth at a large comprehensive school in Essex. She then moved to a senior private school in Surrey and worked there until she started a family. After a short career break, she moved back to London to teach in senior and prep schools nearer to home.
